Darstellung:

Horizontally arranged; the name of the god Jmn-R˓, „Amun-Ra“ (Keel 1995: § 642, 643, 644, 645, 646, 647, 648, 649, 650) with additional, very thin nb signs (Keel 1995: § 458), flanking it vertically probably as space fillers; cf. Tel Gat Carmel: Brandl 1999b: 18* no. 1; if one reads them the meaning could be „Amun-Re is (my) Lord“ and, if one takes into consideration that the j resembles often a maat-feather and if one gives to the sign a double duty, an additional „Lord of Maat“ is the result; the Egyptians liked that multiplicity of meaning; exactly the same combination of signs are found on Keel 1997b: Achsib Nr. 78; Keel 1997b: Afek Nr. 23; Keel 1997b: Tell el-˓Aǧul Nr. 239; Dotan Nr. 29; Keel 2010a: Tell el-Far˓a-Süd Nr. 145, 450, 455, 476, 672, 701 und 813; Keel 2013: Tel Gamma Nr. 18; Keel 2013: Geser Nr. 621; Lachish: Tufnell 1953: pl. 43,14-16; Tufnell 1958: pl. 37f,268; 39f,348.374; a similar fish scaraboid, with the same inscription, was uncovered at the palace of Amenhotep III at Malkata: Hayes 1951: 233 no. R 42; fig. 34 no. R 42; for another, unprovenanced parallel cf. Spalinger 1982.
