Two serpents seem to flank the figure on an item from Gezer (
Macalister 1912: III: pl. 221:9;
Keel 1992: Fig. 219; cf. Pritchard 1943: 10), but these could also be plants, as is known from many items and which would be more in line with the iconographic tradition. This item is far too uncertain to be used as evidence. The same is true of a pattern on one plaque from Gezer (
Macalister 1912: II:415, III: pl. 221:10) which
Pritchard (1943: 7) claims as „ ... might represent a serpent“.
